The Collections
The designs have an organic, feel with few straight edges in sight!
The Light and Texture collection is born from exploring the interplay of light and texture on the surface of the metal. Using different processes including planishing, fusing and reticulating, etching and imprinting adds depth and texture to the silver and really brings it to life, enabling it to catch the light beautifully. The Ribbons range is a prime example with fluid, undulating links of reticulated silver, as is its sister, Patchwork Ribbons, where pieces of reticulated silver are fused together to form high-impact pieces.
The Rock Art collection is inspired by my back ground in archaeology and the work I have carried out with prehistoric rock art, with influences coming from around the world. I feel privileged to to work with this amazing resource and to be able to pass this knowledge on. I feel its my way of passing on a little bit of the past and raising peoples awareness of what exists around us.
The Travellers Tales collection, as the name suggests, is inspired by my travels, be it down the garden path or to far flung shores. It incorporates some of natures wonderful gifts, pebbles from a beach in Anglesey, shells from the Scilly Isles and corals from Thailand, all cast in silver and making the most of their intricate textures.
